My name is Laura ... I am a makeup artist, a photographer, a Christian, a wife and a mother ... not necessarily in that order ... !"

Over the years, I've worked and played in various mediums of the art world. I started in Lancaster Beauty College in 1981. After graduating, I went into a Southern California salon and did both hair and make-up for about 5 years. My fascination with watercolors and painting ultimately lead me to discover my passion for make-up.

I have always been into photography, as well, and upon moving to Hawaii, I eventually married the two - starting in glamour photography. After many years of doing make-up in most all venues (including retail cosmetics, theatre and opera, weddings, pageants, fashion shows, photo shoots, print and advertising), I eventually crossed over into the TV and motion picture industry doing everything from short films, television, commercials, videos to feature films.

I now make my living, equally with make-up/styling and photography. In make-up, my forte is probably beauty and body make-up, but I am also experienced in temporary tattoos, blood, grime, scars, and various other special effects.

As for photography, my specialty really lies in capturing people's "real selves," and making people comfortable enough for their personalities to come out.

I shoot primarily composite cards, headshots, senior portraits, family photos, engagement shots, children, small weddings and parties. My preference is location shooting and natural light, but I also have studio lighting.

I am truly blessed in that I am able to make a living doing what I really love - and I always have fun doin' it. I usually end up sacrificing my dignity to make my subjects laugh ... call me!!
